Frequently Asked Questions

Hello! We are glad you have taken the first step in partnering with us to create a confident smile custom made for you.

You don’t need to dread wearing dentures- they can improve your life! Imagine being able to feel comfortable while you chew your food, smile without embarrassment, and enunciate your speech clearly with the natural appearance of your ideal smile.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure we get all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling.

Here’s what to expect:

  • If you are trying to recreate your old smile, take some time to find a few old pictures of yourself smiling to bring in. The bigger the picture and smile the better! Candid shots are better than posed. Note any features that are important to you that may be obscured in the pictures, such as characteristic gaps, natural crowding of teeth, gum pigmentation, etc.
  • If you don’t have any pictures of yourself, we can use a picture of a parent, sibling, or other family member.
  • Make a list of the things you like about your current denture (if applicable) as well as a list of the things you would like to change. Note any functional issues like discomfort, dislodging when eating certain foods, or difficulty with bite or chewing.
  • You can save time by completing the New Patient and Dental/Medical History forms..

  • If you are unable to fill out the necessary New Patient and Dental/Medical History forms beforehand, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to do so. Although it may not be obvious at first glance, each question is important. Your answers will help us better understand who you are.
  • As a new patient, we will conduct a comprehensive exam. Our New Patient Exam may be different than what you are used to. During this exam we will discuss your dental history, any concerns you may have, and what your goals and motivations are.
  • We will complete an oral cancer screening which includes an examination of your jaw, neck, tongue and inside of your mouth. This screening is important and recommended once per year.
  • This initial exam could take up to an hour and is important so we can discuss your goals, address concerns and identify any potential issues. This is key to meeting your expectations, and it is central to our philosophy of care.
  • Based on all of this information, together, we will develop the best personalized treatment plan for your specific oral health.

  • After determining the right treatment plan for you we will provide a print out detailing the treatment along with cost estimates so you can make an informed decision. We will review payment options, available discounts and answer questions about insurance coverage of your recommended services.
  • Our goal is to help you get the treatment you need quickly and comfortably.
  • If time allows after review and approval of treatment plan and costs, the treatment process can typically begin the same day as the initial exam. However, some treatments require a visit to the dentist for: cleaning, rest seats, or surveyed crowns.
  • If outside dental care is needed before treatment, we can provide a referral.  We will coordinate work with the other office and with your schedule.
  • Finally, we will schedule your next appointment before you leave and explain what you can expect next visit.
  • You will receive phone and email reminders of your upcoming appointments.
